About CNYAviation.com

Niagara FallsThere are few places in this country where you can fly over beautiful lakes and rivers, over a gorgeous mountain range, and over a large metropolitan city the way you can right here in New York State. Whether it's an evening flight over the finger lakes as the setting sun reflects off the water, a breathtaking trip over the Adirondack mountains in the fall when the leaves are at their peak colors, or an exhilarating trip down the Hudson river through the New York City VFR corridor...New York has some of the best flying around. If you've never flown over New York State, there's a wonderful flying experience waiting here for you.

AdirondacksCNY Aviation.com was created to promote general aviation in New York State. Our goal is to show pilots and aviation enthusiasts how rewarding flying here can be.

Some of the beautiful scenery we mentioned above is shown in photographs from various pilots throughout the state. And the photos don't stop there...we have some great photos of GA aircraft as well!

New York City Our events section, a favorite for many of the locals, lists many of the fly-in events like picnics, safety seminars and even air shows you can attend in New York State. You can listen to live air traffic control from any one of 10 airports in New York, including JFK! And our newest feature, Flight Safety, offers some excellent advice to pilots not only in New York, but all over the world.

Sodus BayAnd the list of features goes on...and continues to grow! We think you'll enjoy your visit to CNYAviation.com and hope to see you flying the skies of New York State...so you too can experience all it has to offer.

About William Green

William GreenI've loved aviation since I was 9 years old. My first experience with flight was aboard a DC-9 out of Nashville, Tennessee. Upon reaching Junior High School, I joined the Civil Air Patrol where I was exposed to flying aboard a general aviation aircraft, a Cessna 172N, tail number N249NY. After college and finding a job in the TV business, I found myself in another Cessna, this time a 172SP (tail number N190LP) flown by Peter Ricciardiello, so I could take some aerial footage for a TV commercial. I was hooked and decided it was time for me to take the controls for myself and get my private pilot's certificate. In April of 2004, I soloed for the first time at Oswego County Airport (KFZY) thanks to great instruction from Mike Verdow, my flight instructor at ExecAir in Syracuse (KSYR). Later I went on to pass my checkride on September 17, 2004. Soon after I got my private, I decided it was a great opportunity to combine my love for aviation with my love for designing web sites...and you guessed it, that was when CNYAviation.com came to life!
